Let Go

I have to take responsibility for my life, my words, my actions, my reactions.  I have to take responsibility for my choices, my decisions, the path I decide to walk down.  I cannot control another individual’s words, actions, reactions, choices, decisions, or the path they decide to walk down.  As much as it may frustrate me, infuriate me, and or hurt me, to see someone make foolish life choices, decisions, at the end of the day, I cannot make life choices and decisions for another person.  I cannot make someone see what they need to see, I cannot live this life, for someone else.  There will certainly be opportunities to speak into people’s lives.  Opportunities to encourage, guide, and help them, but, again, you cannot, I cannot, we cannot, live life for them.  At some point, I am currently learning, you have done your best, tried the best you can, to make things clear to an individual or individuals.  You have attempted to encourage them, guide them, and help them, but to no avail.  They just continue down their destructive path.  I am learning that in these instances in life, at these intersections, with these type of people, you have to let them go.  You have to cut them loose.  You have to walk away from them.  You have to live your life.  You have to take responsibility for your own life.  I have a life to live.  You have a life to live.  There are goals, aspirations, hopes, and dreams we want to pursue, need to pursue.  I have a life to live, you have a life to live.  Some people, through their selfishness, arrogance, pride, and foolishness, choose to walk down a path that leads to a dead-end.  It leads to no growth, no change, no maturity.  It leads them to a slow, painful decay.  A wasted life.  They think they know.  They think they have it all figured out.  They think their life is good, when in reality, it is a complete mess.  Let them go, let them go.  You need to, you have to.  You cannot allow this person, these people, to ruin what you were made for, destined for.  You cannot allow these people to pull you down, pull you apart, drag you down their self-destructive, dead-end path, destroying who you are responsible to become!  Letting go is difficult.  Very hard.  Especially when it is family, a close friend, or a loved one.  But letting go is necessary.  Necessary for you, and necessary for them.  They have chosen.  You have to choose.  You have to be who you are suppose to be and become.  You have your life to live.  You have your dreams to pursue.  Your path to walk down.  Let them go.  Turnaround.  Walk away.  Be the leader.  Be the example.  Overcome.  Live life full.  Be thankful.  Today is a gift!  Let go.
